Bio

Scout Katovich (she/her) is a Staff Attorney at the Trone Center for Justice and Equality, where she works with CLRP, NPP, CPP, and RJP on criminal legal system reform and racial justice issues. Prior to joining the ACLU, Scout worked as an associate at Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel. There, she litigated a broad range of civil rights cases in state and federal court, including wrongful conviction cases, prison conditions class actions, excessive force cases against the NYPD, a fair housing act discrimination case, and a case defending a city’s civilian oversight board from a police union challenge. Prior to that, Scout clerked in the Southern District of New York and was a legal fellow at the New York Civil Liberties Union, where she litigated immigration and police accountability cases and conducted research and advocacy on nuisance laws in New York state. Scout is a graduate of Yale Law School and Columbia University.
