Bio
Rio Matsumoto is a graduating senior at the George Washington University double-majoring in political science with a focus in public policy and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. Her interest and passion in promoting civil rights and civil justice has led her to a multitude of work opportunities throughout her college career in the federal government, nonprofits, and the private sector. At GWU, Rio is a proud member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She has also enjoyed being co-president of GWU’s largest LGBTQ+ student organization and a staff writer for GWU’s student newspaper.
At the ACLU, Rio is a policy and government affairs intern for the National Political Advocacy Department focusing on LGBTQ+ campaigns.
