Bio
Jared Keenan is a Criminal Justice Staff Attorney with the ACLU of Arizona. After graduating from Boston University School of Law in 2008, Jared worked as a public defender in Boston, Massachusetts and in Mohave and Yavapai counties in Arizona. As a public defender, Jared fought to protect the constitutional rights of the poor and criminally accused. As a public defender in Yavapai County, Jared represented individuals charged with serious felony offenses, including first-degree murder. Jared also represented defendants on appeal, in post-conviction relief proceedings, and through Special Actions, arguing before the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court. As a Criminal Justice Staff Attorney with the ACLU of Arizona, Jared will be focusing on criminal justice reform issues like ending cash bail in the state and dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline.
